Predators Luke Schenn takes on two opponents at once
Luke Schenn has been a reliable, stay-at-home defenseman who hasn't been afraid to mix it up for approximately fifteen years, and Friday night that grit, toughness, and determination were on display during game three in Nashville at Bridgestone Arena.
Early in the first period, with the score knotted at zero, Schenn grabbed Vancouver Canucks Conor Garland and Nikita Zadorov.
Trying to stir it up early in the game is a good strategy, especially if you can goad an opponent into a penalty, but the veteran defenseman has made a career of playing hard and smart. How he handled himself in particular during this point in the game also makes for entertaining hockey.
The Canucks may be the favourites during the series, but to many peoples surprise there may be a chance that it goes long and is drawn out. Don't be surprised if it takes seven games to determine a winner.
Tempers have flared multiple times during the game due to the rough play.
