A few months ago, the National Hockey League announced that the Seattle Kraken and Vegas Golden Knights will face each other in the 2024 Winter Classic, while Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers will do battle in the 2023 Heritage Classic.

According to ESPN's Kevin Weekes, the NHL will be heading outdoors an additional two times during the 2023-24 season with two Stadium Series games.

Both games will be played at MetLife Stadium, home of the NFL's New York Jets and will see the New York Rangers take on the New York Islanders, while the New Jersey Devils will face the Philadelphia Flyers.

"As per my initial report a few months back ; there will be 2 @NHL Outdoor games at @MetLifeStadium next season, in addition to Music Concert. @NYRangers/@NYIslanders, @NJDevils/@NHLFlyers." Weekes said.

The Devils and Islanders have both appeared in one outdoor game each, which came in 2014. Meanwhile the Flyers have participated in five outdoor games, most recently in 2021 and the Rangers have played in four, with the 2018 Winter Classic against the Sabres being their last appearance outdoors.
