The New York Rangers loaded up at the trade deadline for a deep playoff run but ended up getting bounced in the first round at the hands of the New Jersey Devils.

Changes have already been made off the ice with the departure of Head Coach Gerard Gallant, but there is also going to be movement with some players on the team's roster.

One of those names that could be on the move is 30-year-old forward Barclay Goodrow. According to Arthur Staple of The Athletic, if the Rangers want to trade Goodrow this summer, they may need to trade a second or third round pick as well just to get rid of his contract.

Goodrow, a native of Toronto, was traded to the Rangers in July 2021 from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for a seventh round pick. Just a few days after joining the Rangers, Goodrow signed a six-year contract with an AAV of $3,641,667 and it also includes a modified no-trade clause. He's set to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2027.

In two seasons with the Rangers, Goodrow has 64 points (24 goals, 40 assists), 127 penalty minutes and is a plus-16.
