Artemi Panarin Makes His Feelings Extremely Clear On Russia's Four Nations Exclusion
Russia have not been able to compete in international competition for quite some time, and now one of their top stars has opened up on that situation.
The Four Nations Face Off got started on Wednesday night with a fantastic clash between Canada and Sweden, with international hockey making a massive statement as they return to centre stage.
With Finland and the United States set to get their tournament underway on Thursday, we've heard the announcement from Gary Bettman about the return of the Hockey World Cup in 2028, which, presumably will include Russia.
Due to ongoing conflicts, the nation has not been represented at major tournaments in recent years, and after the Four Nations began, top Russian star Artemi Panarin addressed the situation.
«It's just sad, but we can't do anything. One thing I know is that most of the players probably want us to be able to play in these events. I know players are not against that.»
In his comments, Panarin addressed the fact that there isn't much players can do about it, and ultimately, that is unfortunately true, as they would be a highly competitive squad at these tournaments.
With superstars like Kirill Kaprizov, Alex Ovechkin, Nikita Kucherov, Igor Shesterkin and so many more, fans eagerly await the return of Russia to the international stage, with the 2026 Olympic Games a place where many expect that to ultimately happen.
Ultimately, this is a tough situation to navigate beyond hockey, but fans want to see the best take on the best, and that can't happen without Russia, and with all of the players excited to get back to the competition, the hope is that we see them back on the ice soon.
