The final buzzer of game one between the Washington Capitals and New York Rangers brought what was close to an all-out brawl, with officials working hard to stop it.

Game one of the first round series between the Washington Capitals and New York Rangers did not go well for the Caps, and tempers were oh so close to boiling over after the final buzzer. Both officials and the two linesmen did everything in their power to stop it.

With the final whistle gone, Washington's Trevor van Riemsdyk was getting into a heated discussion with a couple of members of the New York Rangers, when some teammates decided to step in to help. One of the first, of course, was Tom Wilson, who shoved a member of the Rangers. That really kicked things in to high gear, with the officials trying to keep a lid on everything.

With cooler heads prevailing, and the players skating off the ice, the Rangers took game one 3-1. New York's Matt Rempe, who's more known for throwing hands than scoring goals, managed to put one in the net in his first ever NHL playoff game.

"MATT REMPE WELCOME TO THE PLAYOFFS

RANGERS TAKE THE LEAD."

Rempe probably can't be blamed for having his adrenaline pumping given the career milestone, but he came out a big to amped up, taking a penalty on his very first NHL post season shift.
