Two Veteran New York Rangers Call Out Their Teammates After Blowout Loss to the Los Angeles Kings

The New York Rangers slumped to 5-0 against the Kings before falling 5-1 on Saturday, and now Ryan Lindgren and Vincent Trocket have called the team out.

This season started well for the New York Rangers, but unfortunately things have quickly gone down hill, with the rumours surrounding Jacob Trouba and Chris Kreider seemingly what started that downfall.

The team have since moved on from Trouba, and now they may be looking to make more changes after the team were thoroughly dominated by the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, with Igor Shesterkin being pulled early in the second period after letting in five goals on just 21 shots.

Things in the media appear to be getting ugly, and that frustration may be boiling over in the locker room as well, with veteran defenseman Ryan Lindgren calling out the team's effort after the loss.

It's getting outworked, out-competed, losing those 50-50 battles, said Lindgren of the team's struggles. That can't happen. Turnovers, mistakes, those are going to happen inside a game. Those you can live with. But when it comes down to a 50-50 puck, you're competing against someone else. You've got to come away with those, and we're not right now. We're too easy to play against, and we've got to be a hell of a lot better.

The frustration of fans continues as well, with many pointing out that Lindgren should take his own advice, rather than call out the rest of the team for their overall performance.

He wasn't the only one calling out the team however, as forward Vincent Trochek piped up after the game as well, taking some accountability but noting everyone has to be better.

At the end of the day you need to perform on the ice and you need to make sure you show up and give it your all every shift, said Trocheck. Right now I feel like we're not doing that

Lastly was Head Coach Peter Laviolette, who appeared to be at a loss for words when asked about the situation.

Ultimately, no one in New York has any idea what's happening right now, and a once strong Stanley Cup contender is now in a free fall, so hopefully for those in New York something can be figured out soon as they look to salvage what appears to be a lost season.
