Despite Alex DeBrincat saying there were no hard feelings, Ottawa Senators fans don't feel the same way. And it's difficult to blame them if they're just a little bit bitter.
Ottawa and the Detroit Red Wings met this afternoon in their first game since high-profile restricted free agent Alex DeBrincat forced the team's hand into a trade after refusing to sign long term. Sens fans were thrilled as forward Ridly Greig caught DeBrincat in the corner with a huge hit that sent him flying. It seemed clean to me, but Greig was handed two minutes for roughing.
DeBrincat decided to have words with his former teammate Greig. Some shoves were given out, but cooler heads prevailed.
