If you're going to try to insult someone privately, make sure you aren't doing a live press conference at the time. The Philadelphia Flyers have issued an apology following an incident earlier today where a member of their social media team ripped on a reporter while using a hot microphone.
During a Zoom call with Garnet Hathaway, a hot mic caught a member of the PR team saying "how many times is she going to ask this f--king question?"
It's not clear who the reporter was or which organization she's with, but other hockey reporters took notice of what had happened.
"Got to love when the @NHLFlyers PR department gets caught on a hot mic ripping a reporter's perfectly valid question during a press conference, tweets it out and then deletes it. What a joke. The lack of respect is mind-boggling. Be better."
"Sports leagues and media are supposed to engage in a collaborative effort to grow the game and connect the fans. How far we've strayed from that. It is such a shame." - Mollie Walker, New York Post
Definitely not a great look for Philadelphia. It's not yet known whether the staff member has been fired.
