Moments ago, the New York Rangers announced a two year extension for defenceman K'Andre Miller, for an annual salary of approximately $3.8M.
Miller, only 23 years old, was a restricted free agent coming off his entry level contract signed in 2020. In 214 games to this point in his career, Miller has posted 21 goals and 75 points.
Miller has been an impressive young addition to the Rangers blueline in the last two seasons, particularly in the Rangers' playoff run to the Eastern Conference finals in 2022. Now earning a raise on his contract, the Rangers have settled on a bridge contract, keeping in mind the
several other young players due for new contracts.
In retaining Miller for the next two seasons, the New York Rangers solidify their top four defence, arguably on of the best in the league, for years to come - hopefully with more long playoff runs in mind.
