Boston Bruins set to Scratch 27 Year Old Forward: Possible Trade Incoming?
The Boston Bruins are on the outside looking in at a playoff spot, and now, they've scratched a talented young forward, with trade speculation heating up.
This season hasn't been a very good one for the Boston Bruins, and with the team on the verge of potentially missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs, there's been plenty of speculation that a fire sale could be on the horizon.
That includes players like Trent Frederic, Nikita Zadorov and even captain Brad Marchand, but now, another player has been identified as potentially being on the move.
According to a report from Michael Sullivan, the Bruins are making 27-year old Justin Brazeau a healthy scratch on Tuesday, leading to plenty of speculation that he may be on the move in the near future.
The undrafted winger made his NHL debut with the Bruins a season ago, and with his first lengthy stint in the league this season, he's posted 10 goals and 20 points in 54 games played, showing that he's got potential as a middle-six forward at the NHL level.
The trade deadline is now less than 10 days away, with teams around the league finally using all their intel to push their chips onto the table for a Stanley Cup run, and while Brazeau may not be a big deal, a team acquiring him for relatively cheap could be a major boost to a lineup.
Ultimately, there's a chance that this isn't injury related, as the team may simply be looking to get a different feel for their lineup as they look to get back into a Stanley Cup Playoffs spot, but given all of the speculation around the Bruins, it's safe to say that nobody except for David Pastrnak will be off the table in trade talks.
