After over a week of inactivity on the waiver wire, the Sharks decided to place a 28-year-old forward on unconditional waivers.

According to CapFriendly, the San Jose Sharks have placed forward Nathan Todd on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating the final season of his two-year deal he signed last summer.

"The #SJSharks have placed F Nathan Todd on unconditional waivers for the purpose of contract termination." CapFriendly said.

Todd, a native of Kemptville, Ontario, signed a two-year contract with the San Jose Sharks as an unrestricted free agent in July 2023. The contract was worth $1.55 million and saw Todd earn $775,000 per year.

Other than pre-season games, Todd never appeared in a game in the National Hockey League for the San Jose Sharks this season, playing the entire year in the American Hockey League for their affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda.

In 69 games with the Barracuda, Todd put up 55 points (19 goals, 36 assists), ten penalty minutes and was a minus-two.

If Nathan Todd clears unconditional waivers at 2 pm ET on Wednesday, he'll become an unrestricted free agent and eligible to sign with any of the 31 other National Hockey League franchises.
