Maple Leafs announce roster moves, call up this player for what could be his last NHL game
The Toronto Maple Leafs are known for doing right by their player and it appears tonight is no different as the prepare to take on the Montreal Canadiens.
Going into the game tonight, the Maple Leafs have done some roster shuffling as they've sent down goaltender Joseph Woll and called up forward Wayne Simmonds as David Alter of Rinkwide Toronto mentioned yesterday
The #Leafs have indeed called up Wayne Simmonds while assigning Joseph Woll to the Marlies. Toronto can do this since Matt Murray is not on any sort of injured list and they have two goalies on their roster.
Tomorrow will be interesting. Simmonds, 34, has played in 17 games for the Leafs this season in a limited role registering just 2 assists.
In 15 NHL seasons, Simmonds has skated in 1036 games scoring a total of 263 goals and 263 assists for a total of 526 points.
If this is indeed Simmonds final dance as an NHL player, this is a great gesture by the Leafs, as Simmonds during his Leafs tenure has been the ultimate teammate.
