Matt Murray returning to the Toronto Maple Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs finished off their goaltending situation by signing a pair of free agents on Monday.
Firstly, the Maple Leafs agreed to terms with Stanley Cup champion Anthony Stolarz on a two-year contract worth $5 million ($2.5 million AAV).
"Anthony Stolarz 2 x $2.5M Toronto"
Stolarz, 30, appeared in 27 games for Florida last season where he had a record of 16-7-2 with a 2.03 goals against average, a .925 save percentage and two shutouts.
Along with Stolarz, the Maple Leafs are bringing back a familiar face next season. According to Nick Alberga, the Toronto Maple Leafs have signed Matt Murray, likely to a one-year contract.
"Hearing Matt Murray is re-signing with the Maple Leafs."
Murray, 30, didn't play at all last season with the Maple Leafs due to injury and spent all year on LTIR. The Maple Leafs are hoping that Murray will be able to be a third option for them incase of an injury to Stolarz or Joseph Woll throughout the season.
