Toronto Maple Leafs announce addition to management team
Toronto Maple Leafs management took a hit last week with the departure of their director of amateur scouting Wes Clark who was hired by the Pittsburgh Penguins as their Vice President of Player Personnel.
Thursday the Maple Leafs announced in a release that they had found their replacement in naming Mark Leach to the role previously held by Clark. Leach who has a wealth of understanding of the job previously worked with the Dallas Stars Amateur Scouting staff however previous to that worked with the Detroit Red Wings for twenty years where he began his career as an amateur scout. During his tenure in Detroit, he helped mould a roster that would win Stanley Cups in 1997, 1998, 2002 as well as 2008.
Have a look:
In Leach, the Maple Leafs are getting an individual who has proven time and time again that he knows how to identify talent and help draft players who have been able to help the teams he's been associated with, be successful.
The hope is through his abundance of knowledge and expertise Leach should be able to help draft players and craft teams that can be successful for years to come with the ultimate goal of winning the Stanley Cup.
