Breaking News - Vancouver Canucks to buyout Oliver Ekman-Larsson
Today began the NHL's window for buyouts and it appears at least one team is wasting no time getting things underway. After no players were placed on waivers earlier today it seemed like it would be quiet today, but that is not the case.
According to Elliotte Friedman, the Vancouver Canucks are in the process of buying out Oliver Ekman-Larsson.
There is word this afternoon that Vancouver will buy out Oliver Ekman-Larsson. He will be an unrestricted free agent.
OEL did not require waivers, due to his no movement clause allowing him to just be bought out.
The buyout of this deal will appear as follows.
The Canucks had previously acquired OEL from the Arizona Coyotes in 2021 for a haul that included the 9th overall pick at the time.
