J.T. Miller's leave of absence is now officially over, and according to one top insider, it could have been a problem with some teammates that led to the move, which has raised question marks about this roster moving forward.
The Vancouver Canucks season has already gone through some major ups and downs, but with the return of J.T. Miller as well as Thatcher Demko, things appear to be looking up as they look to go a few steps further than 2023/24 and chase their first ever Stanley Cup.
However, the drama surrounding Miller's absence from the team has continued on, with new information emerging from top Insider Elliotte Friedman.
Elliotte Friedman on the latest 32 Thoughts podcast, revealed the following:
This brings back memories of the dustup between he and Elias Pettersson at practice from late October, and while it's purely speculation, Pettersson certainly hadn't seemed like himself at any point this season either.
Once Miller left the team, it was noticeable how much of a step forward Pettersson's game took, and while that could have been out of pure elevated responsibility, it's hard to ignore the circumstances surrounding this situation.
Miller returned for the Canucks latest game, offering a statement on his absence but revealing he'll give no details on what led to it, with the entire team looking to put it behind them.
Ultimately, we may never truly know the exact circumstances that led to Miller's weeks long absence from the team, but he is back now and is seemingly doing well, so the hope is that whatever led too it, it's completely in the past now.
