J.T. Miller Called Out By Head Coach Rick Tocchet After Recent Struggles

J.T. Miller has been right in the midst of trade speculation in recent times, and now, his Head Coach has called him out after the way he's performed as of late.
The Vancouver Canucks have been at the centre of immense drama as of late involving J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson, and after GM Patrik Allvin called out Pettersson recently, now it's Miller's turn.
In five of his past six games, Miller has gone scoreless, and now, Head Coach Rick Tocchet has called him out for his play after reporters asked why he has been struggling.
He's not hurt... He needs to play better, he knows it.
The Miller we know at his very best when he's driving the play, and Tocchet knows that, and he speculates that Miller knows there's a way for him to be better and more impactful on a nightly basis.
«It's tough. Guys like that want to play on the edge, so he's trying to temper it; he doesn't want to take dumb penalties, things like that. He's at his best when he's driving play.
I think it's just the way we're made up right nowwe're playing more four lines, and I think it's helped our team not give the other team as many shots, try to stay in the game. But he wants to play better, he knows it.»
For a player that is usually so motivated to play at his very best, Miller simply seems checked out right now, as this is how he responded when asked about his lack of production.
«I don't know, probably could play a little better, I don't know.»
At this point, it's safe to say that it's best for not only Miller but the entire team and organization if they parted ways, and while a trade isn't imminent, a blockbuster move is more likely than not in Vancouver this season.
