In trade talks, other Seravalli is reporting that other teams are asking the Patrik Allvin and the Vancouver Canucks to add an asset to the deal in order for them to take on Ilya Mikheyev's contract. So far, the Canucks aren't really wanting to attach an asset with Mikheyev in any trade, but as the weeks go by, we'll see if that changes. The 29-year-old has two years remaining on his contract with an average annual value of $4.75 million.
It's going to be tough for the Canucks to find a team to take on Mikheyev's full salary for the next two seasons, but with the need for cap space, Patrik Allvin may have no choice but to include an asset, such a third-round pick for example, in order to move the Russian forward.
