The Toronto Maple Leafs and forward Mitch Marner have been at odds for some time The friction has been palpable throughout the beginning of the off-season and with rumours flying around that would welcome a change of scenery. It appears that he taking the first step to make that an actual possibility.
According to The Hockey News Marner has submitted his trade list which consists of 9 teams he would be willing to waive his no trade clause to go to, although it doesn't look like the list has been made public.
Marner, 27, has played his entire career with the Maple Leafs up to this point. Last season, the point producing forward skated in 69 games put up in total of 85 points including 26 goals and adding 59 assists.
It's clear Marner has fallen out of favour with Toronto media and their fans, but it the Leafs actually want to trade the young forward, bring patient would be the right approach to make sure they get an appropriate return.
We'll have to keep an eye on this as it develops as there have been some conflicting reports about what Marner and his camp intend to do during the last year of his current contract.
