Hill was solid for the Golden Knights throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but a big decision must be made in the coming weeks on if the organization will bring him back or if he'll hit the open market on July 1st.
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, Adin Hill could be seeking a multi-year contract with an average annual value (AAV) in the area of $4 million.
Hill, 27, is coming off a two-year contract that saw him earn $2.175 million per season. He was traded to the Golden Knights by the Arizona Coyotes in August 2022 in exchange for a 2024 fourth-round pick. During the regular season, Hill appeared in 27 games, where he sported a 16-7-1 record with a 2.45 GAA and a .915 save percentage.
While there's certainly a chance Hill returns to the Golden Knights next season, it seems more likely that he'll hit unrestricted free agency on Canada Day. Vegas has Logan Thompson, who was the starting goaltender until suffering a lower-body injury in February, causing him to miss the remainder of the regular season.
Other than Thompson, the Golden Knights have four goaltenders under contract for next season - Robin Lehner, who will very likely be on LTIR again, Carl Lindblom, Jesper Vikman and Isaiah Saville. Jiri Patera is set to become a restricted free agent, while Jonathan Quick, Laurent Brossoit, as well as Hill, are UFA's on July 1st.
