Insider Reveals where Jets top Prospect Rutger McGroarty will play
Winnipeg Jets 2022 first round pick Rutger McGroarty was playing in the NCAA Frozen Four with the University of Michiagan, reaching the semi-final before being eliminated by Boston College ending his sophomore season.
Rumors were running rampid on where McGroarty would be taking his talents next. Does he turn pro and join the Manitoba Moose for their Calder Cup playoff run? Take things in with the Winnpeg Jets as they begin the Stanley Cup Playoffs? Or does McGroarty return to Michigan for the 2024-2025 season?
Hockey Insider Elliotte Friedman broke the news that McGroarty will be returning to the Wolverines for his junior year. The decision is being supported by the Jets organization.
The 20 year old, can return to college to continue to grow and mature without the pressure of turning pro. There is a good chance that McGroarty could be the captain of Michigan next season.
