Evander Kane jumps Michael Bunting and then calls him a diver after the game
The Toronto Maple Leafs faced off with the Edmonton Oilers in a spirited Saturday night game. The two teams still seem to hold some disdain for each other after their time together in the North Division.
With the Leafs leading in the 3rd period, Evander Kane lost his cool and jumped Michael Bunting in front of the Oilers goal.
Kane and the Oilers were upset after a Darnell Nurse high stick caught Bunting in the face earlier in the period. On the play Bunting and Kane both received double minors for roughing. After the game Kane had this to say.
He likes to dive & embellish. We want to get that out of the game.
Bunting has a reputation across the league of drawing penalties, while embellishing, but of all nights this probably wasn't the night for Kane to bring this up. Especially after Nurse definitely caught Bunting with the called high stick.
