Nic Deslauriers jumped by Senators player in his way to the penalty box after having another fight on the same play
Nic Deslauriers is one of the toughest players in the NHL. There isn't anyone he isn't willing to drop the gloves with and tonight he proved that. During the second period Deslauriers scored not one but two fighting majors on one play.
After an earlier hit on Cam York by Austin Watson, Deslauriers took a number and was looking to defend his team's young player. He did so by challenging Watson to a fight at center ice to which Watson obliged.
The two players met at center ice for a fight that Deslauriers clearly won. But as Deslauriers made his way to the penalty box he was cheap shotted by Mark Kastelic. As a linesman tried to usher Deslauriers to the penalty box, Kastelic cut him off and dropped the gloves while he was tied up with the linesman.
It's easy to drop the gloves with a player who has already been through a fight. On the play Deslauriers received 2 fighting majors and a game misconduct, while Kastelic was given a major and a game misconduct of his own. Austin Watson also received a major penalty but was not ejected from the game.
