Many hockey players grew up as multi-sport athletes. While some naturally joined teams, other players had to be forced to join teams. That's exactly what happened with both Sidney Crosby and Jack Johnson after both players were told they needed to take on a summer sport. For Crosby and Johnson they both opted to join their high school baseball team, unfortunately that didn't last long.

Last night the Pittsburgh Penguins and Colorado Avalanche faced off on a game on TNT. During an interview between Paul Bissonnette and Jack Johsnon, Biznasty asked for Johnson's blessing to tell the story of both players being kicked off their high school team, to which Johnson gave because he'd 'served his time'.

According to Bissonnette the incident occurred after Johnson was hit by pitch and his hockey instincts took over and he charged the mound. Johnson was reportedly able to handle both the pitcher and first baseman while Crosby handled the catcher.

Both players were asked to turn in their uniforms the next day, but it appears things have worked out for both men as they have gone onto great hockey careers, both capturing Stanley Cup rings. You do have to wonder though, would either of Johnson or Crosby have found his way to a Major League Baseball career?
