Well, it didn't take long for the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning to renew hostilities today at TD, Garden, in fact, chaos ensued off the opening draw of the game.
As the puck was about to be dropped this afternoon, Garnet Hathaway and Pat Maroon were seen jawing at the face-off dot and as soon as the puck was dropped, the gloves were down, take a look:
Hathaway and Maroon are two tough customers who were likely trying to dry the tone of the game, squaring off and throwing haymakers to make their mark.
Maroon really took it to Hathaway in this scrap, with a few uppercuts that Hathaway really had no answer for. Maroon being so much taller probably didn't help things either.
Honestly, as the stretch drive of the NHL season continues, it's no surprise tellers are flaring this early in games. Teams are getting into the playoff mentality and players like Maroon and Hathaway thrive.
