In the first period of tonight's matchup between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Philadelphia Flyers, two heavyweight fighters in Mathieu Olivier and Nic Deslauriers squared off early to set the tone.
The beginning of the fight was a good old-fashioned fight with the opponents trading punches, but something notable happened towards the end - the two players tapped each other on the head to acknowledge the battle and move on.
It's not the first time fighters have showed a mutual respect on the ice, but it's still good to see two players bow out honouring while each other.
This fight gives Deslauriers the league-lead in fighting majors on the season, with his fourth of the year. On the other side, Olivier may be trying to make a spark on his team, after they've struggled in their last ten games and now are scratching star Patrik Laine.
