All hell breaks loose after New York Rangers open the scoring
The New York Rangers are facing off against the Florida Panthers in game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, where all hell broke loose after the opening goal.
The Florida Panthers currently hold a 1-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals, with Game 2 happening tonight. After being shutout in Game 1 the Rangers got off to an early start opening the scoring less than 5 minutes into the game. After Vincent Trocheck scored on Sergei Bobrovsky tempers boiled.
In typical Florida Panthers fashion the Panthers tried to impose their will physically. The Rangers were game opponents and didn't back down. On the play, the referees punished the Panthers for their physical play with minor penalties to both Matthew Tkachuk and Carter Verhaeghe. Alexis Lafreniere for the Rangers also received a roughing minor sending New York to the power play.
New York continues to lead Midway through the first period as I looked not the series up at 1.
