It hasn't been an easy start for the Oilers, who had lost their first three games of the season. Last night, the Oilers received the Philadelphia Flyers in Edmonton and finally got their first win of the season, 4-3 in overtime. Despite the adversity, players came to the rink ready to play, and a few of them shined with their leadership.
In the third period, Troy Stetcher jumped on Sean Couturier after a collision with goaltender Stuart Skinner, showing his great team spirit. Both players dropped the gloves, but referees intervened before one of them could be sent to the floor.

A few minutes later, another fight emerged between Corey Perry and Joel Farabee. Right after a draw near the Edmonton Oilers' blue line, both players started to exchange blows in what looked like a planned brawl.

With less than 10 minutes remaining in the third period, and the Oilers trailing behind by one goal, Perry, as a good veteran leader, possibly felt the need to bring energy to his teammates and decided to fight.
At 39 years old, it's truly impressive to see that Perry can still have an impact on his team, despite a limited role on the fourth line, and getting between seven and 12 minutes of ice time every night so far. In four games this year, he scored one goal, the first of the Oilers' season.

Perry and the Oilers will visit the Nashville Predators tomorrow as they look to get their second win of the season against Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault.
