Ryan Reaves has been dethroned as the NHL heavyweight champ by Nic Deslauriers

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Philadelphia Flyers face off against each other for the second time in a matter of days and we all knew Ryan Reaves and Nick Deslauriers were going to drop the gloves at some point because of their pregame meeting at centre ice.

5 minutes into the game, the gloves were down and the two heavyweights squared up at centre Ice; take a look.

After a few seconds of sizing each other up, the fists started flying with both players landing dons shots to the helmets, but, ultimately Deslauriers landed the better of the shots and scored the take down.

With that being said, I think it's safe to say Deslauriers can be anointed the new heavyweight champ of the Eastern Conference if not the entire league.

With that fight Deslauriers now leads the league in fighting majors and even at 33 years old, has shown that he's not going anywhere anytime soon.

We'll see if Reaves can grab the title back, but for now Deslauriers is the heavyweight king, as he should be.

Update: Reaves eye was swollen shut. So much so he had to leave the game.
