The Minnesota Wild were hosting the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday night.

The Wild came away with the two points with a 4-2 victory but it ended up being a costly one for Minnesota. Midway through the third period Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov left the game with a lower-body injury after Jets defenseman Logan Stanley fell on him, and Kaprizov's legs split awkwardly as he landed on the ice.

The 25 year old Russian native is having another fantastic season, with 39 goals, 35 assists, and 74 points in 65 games this year. He is the straw that stirs the drink for their offence. He leads the team in scoring with the next closest player being Mats Zuccarello with 59 points this season.

Wild head coach Dean Evason had no update on Kaprizov after the game, but mentioned they may know more on the injury tomorrow after a medical exam.

A fifth round pick for the Wild in 2015, Kaprizov spent six seasons in the KHL before finally playing in the NHL with the Wild in 2020-21. He's in the second year of a five-year contract with a $9M cap hit.
