Tampa Bay Lightning forward suffers apparent serious injury
One of the biggest challenges when it comes to be successful in the playoffs is a teams ability to stay healthy. For the most part that is something the Tampa Bay Lightning have been able to do all year. Unfortunately tonight it appears that the Lightning may have lost two members of their bottom 6 and one for an extended time.
During the 2nd period Tanner Jeannot becomes tied up with New York Islanders defender Scott Mayfield. As Mayfield looks to deliver a hit the two become tied up. The two players legs get tied up and as Jeannot falls his leg becomes tied up underneath him. Upon falling Jeannot was clearly in immediate pain.
Jeannot was unable to put any weight on his leg as he was removed from the game. He would not return. To make matters worse Pat Maroon would leave the game in the 2nd period as well and also not return.
The Lightning would go onto lose the game 6-1, also losing home ice advantage in the first round in the process. But more concerning is the bodies piling up on the Infirmary.
