On Saturday night the Toronto Maple Leafs faced off against the Vancouver Canucks in a game they lost 4-1. But the loss on the scoreboard might be the least of the Maple Leafs worried after the latest injury news.

During the 2nd period newly acquired Ryan O'Reilly was struck by a puck to the finger which led to him leaving the game and not returning. In the first period John Tavares was the recipient of two big hits that left the center shaken, while Auston Matthews was struck in the knee with a slap shot that left him limping.

This morning the Maple Leafs took to the ice in Newark, New Jersey for practice and there are some noticable players missing.

#Leafs practice is underway Ryan O'Reilly is not on the ice. John Tavares is wearing extras grey, Luke Schenn is also not on the ice.

The Maple Leafs also announced they had recalled both Alex Steeves and Pontus Holmberg from the American Hockey League, which leads many to believe O'Reilly will likely find himself placed on long-term injured reserve to clear cap space.

This could be a serious blow for the Maple Leafs as they try and end their first round playoff loss streak.
