16-year-old hockey player passes away after suffering multiple strokes
Today the hockey world received more sad news as the St. Paul Capitals announced the passing of 16-year-old Cormick Scanlan. The team announce Cornick had passed away peacefully overnight in a statement on their Twitter account.
Our hockey community has lost a great young man. After suffering a series of strokes, Cormick Scanlan passed away peacefully last night surrounded by family.
Mick played with the Caps through Bantams.
Our strength is with the Scanlans and all who loved Cormick. Rest in peace.
Cormick had suffered an initial stroke on December 6th and had been hospitalized since. After undergoing surgery the surgery appeared to be successful, but that unfortunately was not the case. Cormick's condition slowly worsened until his untimely passing.
A GoFundMe has been setup to support the family.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.
