At the trade deadline this year the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers made some key acquisitions. If either of them win game 7, conditions of trades will be met.

The 2024-2025 National Hockey League season will come to an end Monday evening with the presentation of the Stanley Cup in Sunrise to either the hometown Florida Panthers or the visiting Edmonton Oilers and with all the parity surrounding the series to this point some very important conditions will be met whether the Cup stays in South Florida or it goes back to Canada for the first time since 1993.
Florida and Edmonton made some trades at this year's deadline to upgrade their teams in anticipation of long playoff runs; as we stand here today, one team or the other made moves that will have paid off before the end of the day.
If Florida wins – The 2024 4th round pick sent to Ottawa in the Vladimir Tarasenko trade gets upgraded to a 2026 3rd round pick.
- The 2024 7th round pick Florida sent to Buffalo in the Kyle Okposo trade upgrades to a 2024 5th round pick
- Kyle Okposo will receive a $500k bonus for winning the Stanley Cup
- If Edmonton wins: - The 2025th round pick Edmonton sent to Anaheim upgrades to a 2025 4th round pick.
Whatever happens in game 7, it's been an entertaining season and this week should be just as jam-packed with the NHL Awards on June 27th, The NHL Draft on June 28-29th and likely a parade & celebration in the winning teams' city.
