4-time Stanley Cup winner and legendary Maple Leaf passes away
On Monday, the Toronto Maple Leafs received the unfortunate news of the passing of top prospect Rodion Amirov at the young age of 21. Sadly, that wasn't the only loss suffered by the Leafs on Monday, news has begun to surface that legendary player Bobby Baun has passed away at the age of 86.
Baun had two seperate runs with the Leafs. His first stint with the team was from 1956 to 1967 and his second stint was from 1970-1973. Baun captured 4 Stanley Cups with the Leafs (1962, 1963, 1964 and 1967) scoring the game winning goal in Game 6 to secure the Cup in 1964.
Baun played in 964 career regular season NHL games, scoring 37 goals and 187 assists. Baun also racked up 1,491 penalty minutes.
Our condolences go out to the Baun family and friends during this difficult time.
