Working in the National Hockey League no matter the capacity in which you work is a feat. Wether you're a coach, player or another member of the team, if you're able to carve out a long career two things must happen: 1) you're really good at what you do and 2) you must be pretty lucky.
Tonight, the Bruins are hosting the San Jose Sharks and long time equipment manager for the team, Matt Falconer celebrates his 1000th NHL game, take a look:
Bruins recognize hard-working equipment guy Matt Falconer for working his 1000th NHL game tonight. Cool video tribute with guys like Jumbo Joe, Looch, Marc Savard, Tuukka Rask & Torey Krug saluting him along with current Bruins players Equipment managers are the back bond of the NHL team they work for. It's their job to make sure everything is set for every game in order for the players to do their jobs effectively. That can be anything from Sharpening skates to making sure the players gear gets from one place to another.
To have people like Joe Thornton, Marc Savard and Torey Krug pay their respects during a video tribute, Matt Falconer must be something pretty special.
Congratulations Matt, here's to many more to come.
