The American Hockey League has announced it has suspended one of their coaches after an incident involving an official during a game Saturday night. The incident in question took place during a game between the Chicago Wolves and Texas Stars.

"The American Hockey League today announced that Chicago Wolves head coach Bob Nardella has been suspended for 10 games as a consequence of his actions during a game at Texas on Dec. 9."

"Nardella was assessed a game misconduct for abuse of officials at 8:48 of the third period after using homophobic language."

It's not clear exactly what was said. Nardalla will be allowed to participate in practices at certain times while suspended.

"During the suspension, Nardella will be permitted to participate in team practices on non-game days; he will be eligible to return to the Wolves bench on Jan. 6."

Nardalla was named head coach of the Wolves in June of 2023. He has been with the organization quite some time, having served as a video coach and assistant coach before taking over behind the bench.
