Chicago Wolves netminder Alex Lyon backstopped his team to a Calder Cup, shutting out the Springfield Thunderbirds in Game 5.

Lyon celebrated Chicago's Calder Cup victory which came in the unfriendly confines of Springfield, Massachusetts by offering up a gesture to the fans in the stands. Lyon appeared to flip the bird once while celebrating in his goal crease, and again, this time with the two finger salute during the team's post-game photo op.

The American Hockey League today announced that Chicago Wolves goaltender Alex Lyon has been suspended for two (2) games as a consequence of his actions following Game 5 of the Calder Cup Finals at Springfield on June 25.

Lyon will miss the next two games for which he is on an active AHL roster.

The 29 year old is a pending UFA after completing a one-year two-way deal with the Carolina Hurricanes organization.
