After weeks of rumors it appears that the Ottawa Senators have finally parted ways with Alex DeBrincat. The Senators acquired DeBrincat last summer from the Chicago Blackhawks at last summer's draft. A year later DeBrincat was unwilling to sign with the Senators and the Sens felt obligated to deal the forward.

Since the beginning the Detroit Red Wings have been reported to be one of the favorites to acquire DeBrincat. After days of contract negotiations it appears Steve Yzerman and DeBrincat's agent have finally come together on an agreement.

Believe we will get some Alex DeBrincat closure in the near future. Not sure of all the players, picks and contracts involved. Detroit, as expected.

Lots of names have been linked in negotiations including Andrew Copp, Joe Veleno and draft picks. This deal will surprise many as the Senators and Red Wings will be competing for a playoff spot in the same division next season. But Summer of Dorion 2.0 has been less than impressive.
