Alexis Lafreniere gets away with a cheap headshot on Victor Hedman
Alexis Lafreniere got into an uncharacteristic fight against Steven Stamkos at the end of Game 5. Now tonight in Game 6, Lafreniere threw an uncharacteristic dirty hit. As Victor Hedman moves the puck up the ice, Lafreniere crosses over and catches Hedman with a clear headshot.
The shot clearly rattles Hedman and on his way off the ice Hedman shows he's visibly upset. Hedman who initially drops his stick, picks it up and slams it hard against the boards.
After the hit Hedman went down the tunnel and has yet to return to the game. It's possible he was pulled from the game by a concussion spotter, which would likely mean he isn't eligible to return until the 3rd period.
Lafreniere was not issued a penalty on the play.
