The Anaheim Ducks and the Dallas Stars squared off in the last game of the season for both teams in what turned out to be a special moment for an Emergency Backup Goalie.

Going into the third period, after John Gibson and Anthony Stolarz had been injured earlier in the game, EBUG Tom Hodges was sprung into action and took the Ducks net to start the period, with the game tied 2-2.

Hodges, 28, made 2 saves on three shots in what turned out to be a 4-2 loss including an empty netter. That however, is not the best part of this story.

Hodges, like many other EBUGS that manage to get into an NHL game, live out a childhood dream, but for Hodges seeing, much less playing in an NHL game. When he was young, Hodges lost his eyesight for when he was young and thus, thought the NHL wasn't a possibility. Last night, he was proved wrong.

Quite an incredible story on the last day of the regular season if you ask me.
