Artemi Panarin admits he lost something very important
Artemi Panarin put up 96 points in 75 games last season, and for most that would be considered an incredible season. But for Artemi Panarin it wasn't enough, as the star player expects a lot more from himself. Last season during the playoffs it was reports that Ranger's General Manager, Chris Drury was unhappy with Panarin's performance and effort.
Heading into next season the Rangers and Panarin have Stanley Cup aspirations. Panarin is heading into the 4th year of his $81,500,000 contract. Now Panarin is more focused than ever after solving some off ice issues.
Very interesting convo w/ Panarin today, too. He admitted he lost confidence & needs to open his game up. Said he was playing too simple - "a game of throwing the puck down the boards," rather than possessing it.
"I really need to start being everywhere & doing everything."
A focused and confident Panarin is something that the New York Rangers definitely need. If everything comes together at the right time there is a definite belief that the Rangers could and should be considered a favourite in the Eastern Conference. With star players like Igor Shesterkin, Adam Fox, Chris Kreider and if Panarin is on his game the Rangers should be trouble for any team in the league.
