Columbus Blue Jackets defender Zach Werenski shares a hilarious story about he and fellow University Alumnus Dylan Larkin while they both went to University of Michigan

Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman Zach Werenski was a guest on the What Chaos Show recently sharing a story of his first practice with the University of Michigan.

U of Michigan had some NHL bound talent on the team during the 2014-15 season, with Zach Hyman, Andrew Copp, Tyler Motte, JT Compher, Dylan Larkin and Werenski on the roster.

Werenski shares a story of his first practice with the University of Michigan

«We all went out for welcome week. I get home to the dorm and the next moring I wake up it's like 11:45 and practice is at Noon. I got like 50 calls from guys like where are you?

I run down to the rink. I missed warmups but no one knew I was late at this point. So all the upperclassman are like just get on the ice in time. You'll be fine. As I walk in to change, our strength coach is there and he's like you have to go tell the coaches you're late.

I go in there and I'm like hey coach like I'm late.

The coach responds why didn't Dylan (Larkin) wake you up?

Werenski: "I'm like Dylan didn't sleep in the dorm last night. Dylan slept at the sophomore house. I thought I was getting in trouble. Coach comes in Dylan, and starts yelling at him for not waking me up."

Werenski did a very poor job covering for his buddy on that one. Luckily for the pair, being two of the best players on the team will get you out of the doghouse with your coach in a hurry.
