It was announced in May that Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand would be undergoing double-hip surgery for an injury. Marchand injured his AC-Joint in January of this past season and played through it, like a champ.

Despite missing 12 games in 2021-2022, Marchand put up 32 goals and 48 assists, an 80-point season with a bad injury.

The Bruins have to have been concerned, considering this is the same kind of surgery that side-lined Tuukka Rask and ended with the Bruins' best goalie retiring, leaving the reins to Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark.

How fortunate that this will not have to happen to the Bruins' Perfection Line.
During the Bruins Golf Tournament, Marchand told reporters that today was his first skate since his surgery.

During the Bruins Golf Tournament, Marchand told reporters that today was his first skate since his surgery.

«I've never not skated for four months,» Marchand said, per the Bruins. «It's gonna take a little bit to get back. It's gonna be like learning how to skate again, so it's gonna be really light for the first little bit. Hopefully, progress each week, and hopefully, get back feeling good.»

It looks like the projected lineup on DailyFaceOff has Pavel Zacha in Marchand's spot.

In the meantime, new coach Jim Montgomery will have to keep the Bruins in contention in a tough Atlantic division.
