The Boston Bruins' search for their next head coach has begun. Boston fired Bruce Cassidy last week who quickly landed a new position with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Toronto Maple Leafs Assistant Coach Spencer Carbery is one of the potential candidates for the position. Per reports he has been interviewed by the Boston Bruins

Boston have scheduled interviews with four other head coach candidates. They are Jim Montgomery, Jay Leach, Joe Sacco, and David Quinn.

Carbery has one year of NHL coaching experience joining Sheldon Keefe's staff last Summer. He previously spent three seasons as the Head Coach of Washington Capitals' AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears. He won AHL Coach of the year for the 2020-21 season. Hershey was 104-50-17 (.658 points percentage) during Carbery's three seasons as their head coach.

Keefe said in the statement following Carbery's hiring.

«Spencer possesses a great mind for the game along with the necessary work ethic, energy and communication skills we were looking for."

Time will tell if Toronto will be losing their Assistant Coach to their rival.
