Boston Bruins lockdown popular forward to multi year deal
The Boston Bruins salary situation for next season is going to be tight. With a retirement of Patrice Bergeron and the Bruins facing multiple salary cap bonus overage penalties, they need to maximize every dollar. With two restricted free agents, the Bruins have had to look at arbitration as a solution.
The Bruins are currently waiting for the arbitrators ruling on Jeremy Swayman's hearing. Instead of risking another arbitration case, the Bruins reached a deal this morning with forward. Trent Frederic.
Trent Frederic and the Bruins reach a 2x$2.3M agreement
The deal locks Frederic into a contract for 2 years and helps the Bruins depth at center. Frederic had a career year last season scoring 31 points, 17 of those goals. The Bruins will still need to find some additional help down the middle of they want to have any chance at duplicating their results from last season.
