Yesterday night, the Ottawa Senators played against the Carolina Hurricanes and to say the game went off without a hitch would be a lie, but what else do you expect when one of the Tkachuk brothers is involved. Their games always seem to have a way of getting heated.
Late in the third period, Tkachuk was given a penalty shot with the Senators down by a score of 4-1. Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov came out to challenge him with a poke-check and things get rather heated as Tkachuk comes back at Kochetkov; take a look.
Brady Tkachuk was given a 10-minute misconduct for going after #CauseChaos G Pyotr Kochetkov following a penalty shot. #GoSensGo In fairness to Tkachuk, Kochetkov comes out aggressively and doesn't get any of the puck, but you have to be able to keep your emotions in check. All you're doing in that moment is hurting your team and putting a target on your back for trying to fight the goaltender.
The referees probably saved him from a lot of different things by giving Tkachuk a 10 minute misconduct on this play. At the very least, the hurricanes can't go after him right away, but I wouldn't put it past them to make him answer the bell the next time these two teams play.
In any case, Brady Tkachuk is probing one thing here, he's as spineless as they come.
