Brandon Sutter looks to make NHL return after long battle with COVID-19

The oft-injured Brandon Sutter who hasn't played a National Hockey League game since the 2020-2021 season is hopeful that he'll be able to return to the game, albeit in the fall; according to a report by Rick Dhaliwal.

Sutter, who presumably contracted Covid in March of 2021 is dealing with the effects of Long-Covid and the symptoms associated with it.

On the Donnie and Dhali podcast, Sutter admitted that while he's been skating with the Red Deer Rebels, there are times that after a hard practice he can take up to two days to recover from it.

Sutter who was drafted by Carolina 11th overall in the 2007 Entry Draft is a veteran of 770 games contributing 289 points and 149 penalty minutes in parts of eleven seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes, Pittsburgh Penguins and Vancouver Canucks. Sutter has nine goals and nine assists with eighteen penalty minutes in fifty National Hockey League playoff games.

While Suter who is an unrestricted free agent admitted that while the goal is to make it back onto a National Hockey League roster, his focus is his long-term health and he's prepared to let the card fall where they may.
