Over the weekend the ECHL had announced they'd suspended Mikael Robidoux indefinitely for an incident involving a fan. Robidoux, 23, is currently playing for the ECHL's Allen Americans. During a game over the weekend against the Wichita Thunder, things became heated between the two teams. After Robidoux was called for goalie interference he lost his temper, at which point he was issued a 10 minute misconduct.

That's when things escalated. As he was skating off the ice a fan in the stands said something to an upset Robidoux. Unfortunately he didn't handle it well and he immediately struck the fan who appears to try and grab his stick.

Now the ECHL has come down with a severe suspension for Robidoux suspending him for 14 games.

Alert: Mikael Robidoux of the @AllenAmericans has been suspended for 14 games as the result of his actions after leaving the ice surface at 19:29 of the second period in a game at Wichita last Saturday.

He'll be eligible to return to play on Dec. 4.

This suspension sends a message to Robidoux and any player who thinks of engaging with a fan in the future.
