Breaking News - Johnny Gaudreau makes his decision signs 7-year deal
Less than two hours ago Frank Seravalli of The Daily FaceOff sent out a tweet claiming that Johnny Gaudreau turned down a 7-year deal worth $84,000,000. Unfortunately for Seravalli the information he had given to him was incorrect.
Never know what to make of certain things you hear, but the rumored offer involving #CBJ and Gaudreau today was an absolute whopper: 7 years x $12 million.
Now while he clearly prefaces the idea with a little bit of skepticism it is clear that offer was likely never offered. Elliotte Friedman tweeted out the following seconds ago.
Johnny Gaudreau is going to Columbus
I think it is 7x$9.8M
This comes as a surprise as it appeared New Jersey and the New York Islanders were the front runners all day for Gaudreau.
